What is Interaction states?
Updated July 21, 2026 · by Pedro
Interaction states are UI modes such as default, hover, active, focus, loading, and disabled. Naming every state in a prompt prevents Cursor and Claude from inventing inconsistent behavior.
Why does this term matter for AI prompts?
Precise vocabulary reduces vague instructions. When you name interaction states correctly in a brief, Claude, Cursor, and GPT spend fewer tokens guessing. Pair definitions with structure on AI prompt builder and cost math on prompt token cost.
